P:ear Gallery Party

  • P:ear Gallery 338 Northwest 6th Avenue Portland, OR, 97209 United States (map)

Come hear from the PDXchange Fortaleza cohort about their experience in Nicaragua and Costa Rica.  These eight intrepid souls took language classes, worked on a permaculture farm, learned how to surf, weave, ride horses, build out of adobe, save baby turtles, survived giant spiders and much much more!  This group of students is also quite musical.  A few months away from phones and computers helped this group find "harmony", within themselves and the group.

P:ear  is a non-profit that builds positive relationships with homeless and transitional youth through education, art and recreation to affirm personal worth and create more meaningful and healthier lives. Each year our programs serve almost 900 homeless and transitional young people ages 15 to 24.  In addition to meeting with the Carpe Mundi youth, you can take a look a the artwork in the current installation at the Gallery.  “An Education” is a new collection of work by artist Jeremy Okai Davis accompanied by work from p:ear youth.

P:ear Gallery is located at 338 Northwest 6th Ave., Portland, OR. Snacks and light refreshments will be provided.
