Carpe Diem Education believes that travel, experiential education, and intercultural exchange are hugely transformational and that these experiences should be available to all students, regardless of socioeconomic status. However, travel is expensive and out of the realm of possibility for many low-income youth. To combat this, we partner with Carpe Mundi, a Portland non-profit that supports low-income, first-generation college students to participate in our travel semesters. Carpe Mundi raises money to cover many of the travel costs of a Carpe Diem semester, in addition to providing mentorship and logistical support to make travel possible.
Carpe Mundi is currently in its seventh year of operation, and has supported 99 students with their year-long mentorship program. Their alumni students are becoming the first in their families to graduate from college, and are accomplishing incredible things across the globe and in their own communities. Carpe Mundi makes a lasting impact in the lives of their students, but can only make that impact with your help. Your donation during their May campaign has twice the impact as Carpe Diem Education is matching the first $5,000 in donations. Donations to Carpe Mundi are investments in passionate young women and men who are first-generation in their families to attend college. Carpe Mundi transforms these low-income college-age youth into globally-aware and socially-engaged graduates. Carpe Mundi is a 501(c)(3) organization and all donations are tax deductible.
If you valued your experience with Carpe Diem and hope that others have similar opportunities to learn, grow, and become more thoughtful global citizens, we ask that you consider donating to Carpe Mundi during their May Campaign. Thank you for your contribution, and for being such an important piece of the Carpe Diem community.
